About ME

 My experience centers around adults diagnosed with chronic mental illness and various personality disorders. I also have experience working with adults and the elderly in a psychiatric hospital, medical hospital, nursing home, and hospice setting. This experience has taught me that families and care givers often struggle just as much as patients.
​I treat clients ages 18 and older. I help with depression, anxiety, chronic mental illness, mood disorders, grief, adjusting to life after divorce, aging , low self esteem, poor boundary issues, chronic stress, and more.
I am not licensed to prescribe medication, but I will work with your prescribing physician to give you the best outcome for your plan of care.

What will happen at the first session?

At your first session, we will go over new client paperwork. I will gather some basic information from the INTAKE form and then we can delve into the presenting issue. I will immediately offer some ideas to help you with your problem, but further sessions will be needed to work on a solution. YOU have the answers. I just help you find them.

How often will a session be scheduled?

I prefer to see new clients weekly for about 4 weeks. This enables us to build a working relationship and secure the plan of care. Thereafter, a session every other week or every three weeks is sufficient as our schedules allow. My intention is to give you the tools to help yourself and to NOT have you rely on me. 

Do You Take My Insurance?

Even if I take your insurance, there may still be a co-pay or a portion for which you will be responsible. I will collect this at each session.  Generally, it is good practice to be familiar with your plan's deductible, copay, and patient portion once deductibles have been met.
